Guest Blogging for Zoodles

Thank you for expressing interest! We are always seeking motivated, competent writers. Growing month over month, our traffic and audience will continue to expand, which means increased readers to your articles. We look forward to working with you and our readers look forward to reading you!

Acceptable Content:

Anything that is useful for our readers is good content for a guest post here.  We accept blog posts related to parenting, children, families, learning and education, (online) safety, technology, and the Internet. Blog posts sharing advice, tips, and lists are all welcome, as are stories derived from your own personal experiences.

Guidelines:

  1. Your post should be a minimum of 400 words.
  2. Your post must be unique, original and not be published anywhere else on the Internet.
  3. You agree to link to your guest post from your blog.  You may re-post your guest post on your blog but only after the Zoodles post is live.
  4. Please include a short byline telling our readers a bit about yourself, your blog, website or products. Please include a photo. Your byline will appear at the bottom of your post.  We will link to your blog (or another location of your choosing) from the byline.
  5. Feel free to include appropriate links in your article, however, please note that Zoodles reserves the right to remove any links from the post as well as add links to the post.  For example, if you are writing about preschool math, we may link to our directory of preschool math games.

Guest Post Format

Please follow the format listed below:

  • Introduction – A one line sentence with your name (linked). Something along the lines of “Guest Blog by…”
  • First line – Choose the text carefully as the first line automatically becomes the META description tag of the article and affects search engine search result rankings.
  • Article Text – Web readers have short attention spans. Add bold, underlines, paragraphs and h3 tags wherever required to give your article text more clarity. Try bullets and numbered lists to get a better copy. Once again, please include the links. We’re happy to promote your blog or website but please refrain from including links that are excessive or are not relevant to the content of your post.
  • Link policy – You can link to one of your own articles in the article text if it fits context. There is no limit to external links to other sites. All links are do-follow.
  • Images – We strongly recommended you add an image or two as it helps to get a better reader response. You can find some images on Flickr with Creative Commons license which can be legally shared based on the CC license. Include optimized fast loading images with maximum 500px wide to fit in our template. If you do not provide photos, we may select some for you.
  • Author Byline – We want to help promote you as the author of your article, and as such, provide an opportunity to include a byline/signature on your posts. Please do not use this as ad space. We’re looking for you to let people know who you are and what you do when not blogging for Zoodles. We allow up to 2 links, but they may not be affiliate links or point to junk sites that are solely designed for promoting affiliate links.

Process

  1. Send your article by email to Danae@Zoodles.com.
  2. Attach article in html format preferably (or MS-Word, txt).
  3. Attach images separately with email. Check max size is 500px wide. If size is bigger, then please send unresized uncompressed png, we will crop and optimize it. Confirm source of image for credits and CC license.
  4. Send your twitter url to add to our Twitter Guest Bloggers List.

We reserve the right to remove excessive links, edit for spelling, grammar, content, and length. If something is missing that you feel is important, you can always add it back via a comment. We will do our best to not edit content but may make title changes and photo changes. Please don’t take any of this personally as we know our audience best and want to make sure that your article here is successful! Thanks and happy blogging!
